The best Louise Penny book I've read. I'm slowly working my way through the Three Pines series in order and this one is a real stand out.
The book blends a current case in Quebec City with the re-examination of a case in Three Pines and flashbacks to a tense kidnapping. The balancing between these different storylines is well done, I was kept hooked all the way through.
The characters, pacing and storytelling were excellent. I'm really looking forward to reading the next in the series.
